On a side trip from San Cristobal we went to Cañón del Sumidero, an incredible natural wonder with sheer cliffs rising some 200 meters from the water. We were able to take a boat down the canyon, spotting all types of birds, spider monkeys, iguanas, and even a few crocodiles. Here is some video:
